Time Attack and Drift Pro – 2022 Champions

At the end of an exciting and hard-fought season, the closing round of Time Attack UK at Snetterton allowed the final points to be totted up as the rain hammered down on the paddock.

The Clubman class certainly offered something to celebrate, with seasoned competitor Bren Simpson bringing his MK7 Fiesta ST across the line in 1^st place – and it wasn’t just a top podium spot in the class for Bren, he also secured joint-2^nd place (with Ann Buckley) in the Championship – a thoroughly well-deserved result.

Over in the Club 4WD class, Sam Pickering continued his established formula of taking names in uncompromising style, and his performance at Snetterton showcased just the kind of talent and precision we’ve come to expect. The reigning 2021 UK Time Attack Club 4WD Champion was battling an injury from the previous round, but still managed to pull in a finale performance skilful enough to net him 2^nd place in class for the Championship.

It's been a very entertaining season to observe Tim Bedford’s brutal WRC Impreza in the Pro Extreme class, and a 3^rd-place Championship finish was thoroughly well deserved for this tenacious and talented driver.

Massive congratulations have to go to Mike Andrew: the 2018 champion started strong for Team BC Racing in 2022, taking 1^st place in the first six rounds of the year in his EK Civic. The successes just kept on coming, and at Snetterton he was crowned well-deserved Champion of the Club 2WD class. Magical stuff, and we can’t wait for the next season to start!

It’s been an intense year in the Drift Pro UK Championship, with 2022 serving up no end of thrills and spills. Ollie Evans came in strong and heavy from the start in the BC Racing Nissan S14, starting the year by taking podiums at Cadwell Park, Brands Hatch, through to Oulton Park in the summer and an impressive result at Donington Park. A jaunt to the Drift Masters European Championship in September did much to bolster his confidence, taking an unexpected victory against the best and brightest in European drifting, and so Ollie returned to Snetterton laser-focused for the final round of Drift Pro UK on October 23^rd.

The groundwork throughout the season was key, and while it was Ian Phillips on top of the podium for Round 8, the sheer volume of points and overall success accrued by Ollie Evans over the course of the 2022 season meant that he won the Championship. A superb result for a supremely talented and dedicated drifter, who’s had an incredible year and been a true inspiration to fans and competitors alike. Roll on Drift Pro 2023.
